Most people do not say all that they think. When I first saw you, I had an opinion, but I wouldn't have said anything unless you prompted me.

I am so sorry that you are not treated with the respect and dignity you are due as a healthcare professional. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for what you do. IDGAFF what you have between your legs, as long as you do a great job taking care of me and/or mine, we'll be your best friend. :) Please take care of yourself, Blake, for you are worth it and deserve it.

My son (6) loves (and I am incredible grateful for) all the pediatric nurses, doctors, specialists, and play team at our local hospital. I like to think he makes some of them smile who may unfortunately get a hard time from judemental people, for example when my son gets excited because the male nurse has tattoos, and when he can't stop talking happily about someones colourful hair.

OMG! I am so sorry that you had such horrible people as patients. Please remember that those same people probably voted for trump, the indicted 89 times for felonies. Consider the source and ignore them. One can’t judge a person with a closed heart. They need more help than we can give them here. ☮️❤️🙏

Too funny! I love all nurses! Always treat your nurses well... they do the hands-on care and can be the go-between with doctors that patients need. I've cried on nurse's shoulders as if they had no other duties. They are angels. 💫

Patients can be quite nasty when they are in the hospital and their nurse is the last person they should be rude, but they don't know ant better. Nurses are the absolute greatest and that means ALL NURSES, male and female! Thank you for all you do! 🫶💕👍

we had a male nurse who worked out to the point of filling out his lab coat very attractively taking care of my precious MIL in her final days. he was as sweet as can be and took care of the whole family, several of whom were in town from far away, the whole time we were there, making sure WE had food, water, etc. "anna, you should see this nurse! best looking nurse i've ever seen!" i said to my MIL, who was on morphine, but i'm sure she appreciated it. we found out later that our nurse was a regular recipient of nursing awards because he was just that extra. he really made a sad, difficult time a lot easier.

I'm a CNA AND WORKED IN BOTH CONVALESCENT HOMES AND ACUTE CARE HOSPITALS IN EVERY DEPARTMENT INCLUDING SURGERY EXCEPT LABOR AND DELIVERY. WE CNA'S AND LVN AND RN'S ARE WHAT DO ALL THE CARE, CARRY OUT THE DR.s Orders and sometimes catch the Dr. From prescribing something that the patient can't take listed in their chart.

When I was in labor with my first daughter, I was alone in the hospital, I was very emotional, in lots of pain etc. Her dad was at work an hour away. The nurse told me : would you just shut up. If i could have got up and walked out of that hospital, I would have.

Been a nurse for 38 yrs & counting & the one word of advice I have for anyone, male or female, looking to go into healthcare....be prepared to be everyone's verbal AND physical punching bag. If you can't ignore it & just keep working, you aren't cut out for healthcare. That said, I've often wanted to ask these people, "So what makes you think treating me, the person providing the quality of your care & the timeliness of your pain medication, like crap is a smart idea? Think about it for a minute." 😂

Sigh! What ever happened to people just being polite? What if you started making comments right back to them? It doesn’t solve anything. Perhaps you could take another colleague with you to witness when you’re doing your rounds, that might prevent them from being so vile. Cowards like to hide their misdeeds. I hope your hospital (workplace) has an anti harassment policy.😢😮

To be quite honest, in all the times I've been in hospital either as a patient or mother of a patient, the best nurses I had were "guy nurses!" You all are more patient and willing to listen, do not get offended if asked to explain a test or procedure, and just kinder in general! I've been put in situations (such as the afternoon of the day I had a complete hysterectomy) where the female nurse put me in a chair and 5 hours later when my husband walked in my room, I was still in that chair and had seen NO ONE (nurse, housekeeping, doctor, etc) since the nurse who had put me in the chair walked out of my room!!! When I had male nurses for my stays in hospital, I could count on visits at least 4 times an hour. When my daughter had her tonsils/adenoids removed, because of her heart/lung issues, she had to spend the night in Intensive Care. She had several male nurses who bent over backwards to keep her happy (she was in an ICU at a military hospital that up until she was in the unit, NEVER had a child in it) " one went throughout the hospital collecting popsicles for her and another "snuck" a Hershey bar to her (I found the evidence on the gauze on her hand!). So many times I just want to smack people who give nurses - more specifically male nurses - grief about being "just a nurse!" Nurses, in many cases, are more knowledgeable than the doctors are concerning their patients because they are around those patients more than the doctors who come in once or twice a day for a couple minutes!! Don't listen to those people -they don't have a clue as to how great you are! 💕💕
